One Year...(Closer to Retirement!)

Today marks my one year anniversary working at UMKC.  I can't believe it's been one year already.  Where did the time go??  The year has been filled with giving Bod Pod assessments, coordinating the aerobics classes, moving free weight equipment (multiple times!) and the day to day fitness center operations.  Good news is I get four more personal days for my one year anniversary!  I think it's hard to believe it's already been one year, but what is even harder to believe is that I have lived in Kansas for three years!

Every time I got in my car today, the song "Blink" by Revive was on the radio.  It talks about time going by quickly and life happening in a blink and to make the most of it.  It just seemed fitting that I heard this song numerous times today as I've been reflecting back over the past year at work and the past few years after moving to Kansas.

"It happens in a blink, It happens in a flash
It happens in the time it takes to look back
I try to hold on tight, but there's no stopping time
What is it I've done with my life?"

At the end of every month this year, I always think (and probably say) "I can't believe it's already (insert upcoming month).  Where has the time gone?"  All these months added together to be my one year working at Swinney!

"When it's all said and done
No one remembers
How far we have run
The only thing that matters
Is how we have loved..."

Now I'm off to bed with this song running through my head.  Good night!
