What do you get when you add perfect Michigan weather, wineries, Mackinac Island, fudge, girl talk, laughing, a tractor parade, great friends, CMU campus pictures and much more?? The first annual girl's weekend trip! This past weekend was spent in beautiful northern Michigan for a fun filled weekend with great friends! This was the first time we had all been together in over a year, since Shelly's wedding. We packed a lot of fun into just one weekend. There are so many stories from this weekend, so here are a few highlights...
Taylor joined us for one evening
We got stuck in Mackinaw City for an hour because of a tractor parade...
yes, a tractor parade with 400 tractors!
Mackinac Bridge
The Grand Hotel - Mackinac Island
We spent the day on Mackinac Island and biked the 8.4
mile loop of the Island. Katie and I tried our luck with a tandem bike...
key word being "tried"! We only made it about 500 feet until we had to
turn the bike around and go back for normal bikes. The guys at the rental bike
place had taken a bet on how long we would last. ha!
A fun day was spent touring the wineries
45 North - such a fun winery and really good wine!
Grapes!
Our last winery of the day...if you want lots of wine
tastings, go to Leelanau Cellars!
GREAT friends!! Watching the sunset over Lake Michigan
Lake Michigan...soooo pretty!
A quick visit through Mt. Pleasant and our traditional
CMU campus photos! We were also able to stop by and say
hi to Mom and Dad before heading back to the airport.
The girl's weekend was a blast! There is something so refreshing about old friends! Thank you, Shelly and Katie, for such a fun 1st annual girl's weekend! Looking forward to the next...San Antonio in the Spring!?!
Looks like a great time and beautiful weather! I am LOVING the ear rings on you!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you lovely ladies were able to stop by. And you brought fresh apple cider and apple pie!! Your visit was the 'icing on the cake' of a perfect weekend. Love you!
