Fried Food Galore!

What happens when my sister in law sent an email saying "If you're feeling particularly checked out of your job, and want to take a road trip, the state fair starts next weekend!!!!".  Well, I did what anyone would do and I headed down to Dallas for the Texas State Fair!  I am always in the mood for a weekend trip to Texas.  I brought a little of the chilly weather from Kansas with me, but it was still a fun weekend and day at the fair.  I never knew there was so much fried food and it was all in one place!  We started with a corny dog - yum.  How had I never had a corn dog before?!  We also tried a deep fried red velvet cupcake (yum!), deep fried samoas girl scout cookies (AMAZING!) and deep fried bacon cinnamon roll (also amazing!).  It also wouldn't be a trip to the state fair without seeing Big Tex and riding the Texas Star ferris wheel.  It was such a fun weekend get away to Dallas and I always enjoy spending time with Jeff and Lindsay (and of course, Taco and Tamale).
