So you want to be a Navy Pilot...

Last year when Tim had just started primary flight school training, I came across an eHow webpage that gave seven steps to becoming a Navy pilot.  The webpage made it seem that if you simply followed these seven steps, you would be a Navy pilot.  Seven steps...nothing to it, right?!  I, however, have found an even easier way to becoming a Navy pilot...just wear a 'too big for you' flight suit and look tough!  Maybe throw in a pair of high heels and tadaa...Navy Pilot!  (Ok, so maybe not a real Navy pilot, but a wanna be pilot for the morning.)

I just spent a long weekend in Texas visiting Tim and it was packed full of all sorts of fun events!  This weekend was his squadron's spouses appreciation day on Friday and then the dining out formal dinner on Saturday.  The spouses appreciation day on Friday morning was great!  We had to wear flight suits for the event and even got our own name badges and call signs!  The morning was spent getting a little tour of various parts of the base, getting to try on all the flight gear and even getting to fly the simulator for a few minutes.  I now have a much better idea of what Tim does and where he spends a lot of his time.  The formal dining out on Saturday was quite the experience, too, and a lot of fun.  Between the fun Navy events there was time to enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weather and another trip to the bowling alley (where I even beat Tim one game!!)  It was such a great weekend!

The flight suit fits Tim just a little bit better

All of us ladies...flight suits and high heels

Trying on Tim's gear...it was heavy!

I can pull off this flight suit!
(The Vera Bradley purse goes well with it)

Flying the simulator...much larger screen than I was expecting

Tim pulls off the pilot look much better than I do!

Tim's squadron's dining out dinner

I was supposed to tell Tim if his bow tie wasn't straight...
oops, I failed at my job for this photo.

  2. It's fun to see and hear more about the weekend! Thanks for posting here and on FB...I can't get enough! The only thing I miss is Tim wearing his cover. Guess they don't wear that when a bow tie (a crooked one!) is involved! You both look great..cute dress...and, of course, Tim in his uniform!
