Roughing it...

We had quite the excitement last week with a big thunderstorm on Tuesday night with lots of wind, rain, thunder and lightening.  As we were sitting around for the evening, we heard a loud "boom" and then our power went out.  This was all around 9:30pm, so it was dark outside and we needed to gather up some candles and find the flashlights.  I realize how dependent I am on electricity when we didn't have it.  What did we do to pass the time without power?  We wrote letters by candle light!  Our power finally came on about 24 hours later, only to have a power surge which blew the transformer of our AC.  Being without power for one day and having no air conditioning for two days is my idea of roughing it!  It's so nice having AC and power again!!
